Mobilization
Joint mobilisation is a manual technique used in physiotherapy to improve joint mobility, restore joint function and reduce pain. This technique is performed with slow and controlled movements within the natural range of motion of the joint. There is no forceful jerking or tearing, but it is a safe method always combined with soft tissue techniques. The aim of mobilisations is to painlessly increase the range of movement in the joint, reduce pain, improve the function of the joint itself and reduce muscle tension.
Use of mobilisation:
- As part of a treatment plan for patients with limited mobility
- For stiffness or pain that is caused by joint, soft tissue or other musculoskeletal disorders
